These terms cover kcroofingdirectory.com, run by John Alewine in Kansas City, Missouri ("we", "us"). Short version: this is a plain public directory. Check any roofer yourself before you hire, and the hiring decision is yours.

What we offer
What the directory is. KC Roofing Directory lists roofing contractors that work in the Kansas City metro. Listings are sorted alphabetically. Nothing is ranked, and no contractor can pay for placement. We do not publish ratings or reviews. Registry statuses come from public license and business records and show the date we checked them. Records change. "Not found" in a registry does not mean a contractor did anything wrong.
What it is not. We are not a roofing contractor, we do not inspect work, and we do not guarantee, endorse or supervise any contractor. Any agreement, estimate, warranty or payment is between you and the contractor you choose.
Bid requests. When a contractor covers your ZIP code, the form names that one contractor and your request goes to that contractor only. When no contractor covers your ZIP yet, it comes to us, and we do not pass your details to any roofer without asking you first. Sending a request does not create a contract, and nobody is required to accept a job or respond by a certain time.
Consent and opting out. Consent to be contacted is never a condition of any purchase. You can withdraw it at any time on the unsubscribe page, or reply STOP to any text.
Contractors. Contractors can ask for a correction or removal at any time. Exclusive ZIP territories are sold month to month at the fees on the For Contractors page; the monthly fee is credited toward that month's leads, and you can cancel anytime.
Payment and cancelling
Contractor payments run on Stripe. Homeowners never pay us. Prices may change; changes do not affect what you already bought.

AI assistant and recording
Kate, the assistant on the site and on (816) 643-6667, is an AI. Chats and calls are recorded and transcribed as described in the privacy notice. Kate can make mistakes.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site or service to send spam, or to build, buy or enrich lists for spam;
- send false information, or information about someone else without their permission;
- send automated or bulk submissions, scrape the site, or try to get around spam checks or rate limits;
- probe, overload or attack the site or service;
- use it for anything unlawful, harassing or misleading.
We may block submissions, suspend service or remove access that breaks these rules.
No guaranteed results
Registry information can be out of date. Verify licensing and insurance with the issuing authority and the contractor before you sign anything. The site and our work are provided "as is" except for the promises written in these terms and any signed proposal.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $100 for homeowners, and for contractors the fees paid to us in the 3 months before the claim.
Indemnity
You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim is made against us because of information you sent without the right to send it, or because of how you used the site or service.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Jackson County, Missouri. Before going to court, both sides agree to try to resolve it by email and a call within 30 days.
Changes and other terms
We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date will change, and changes do not affect a signed proposal's price or scope during its term. If any part is not enforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our written consent.
